Diet or the Mediterranean diet can reduce the risk of various diseases in the body. As explained by Budiawan Naro Agus Putra, Ph.D., a researcher at the Indonesian International Institute for Life Sciences, the Week of Italian food. Various benefits have been studied in various parts of the world and gives positive results regarding the benefits of this diet.
Reducing the risk of breast cancer
"It turns out that Mediterranean diet is combined with the use EVOO or Extra Virgin Olive Oil can deliver significant results in the reduction of breast cancer risk," said Agus at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura.
This study included four thousand women aged 60 to 80 years who are at risk of developing breast cancer. They were given a Mediterranean Diet as a lifestyle continuous and measured progress. It turned out that the numbers of breast cancer risk in the study participants dropped significantly.

Undergoing Mediterranean diet, may help reduce the risk of knee Osteoarthtitis, or commonly known as arthritis of the knee. Research also suggests that the Mediterranean diet supplemented with EVOO also give good results on reducing the risk of inflammatory diseases of the knee.

Due to good eating lots of fiber, Mediterranean Diet can help heal the gut with healthy fiber sources. The study also found that in experiments on mice, rat intestinal walls grow thicker by eating fiber. This can reduce the potential bad bacteria damages the intestine so that digestion continues to run well.

Eating lots of fruits like tomatoes and grapes can reduce the risk of diabetes due to wrong diet. The results showed that eating grapes can reduce the fat in the liver. So it can help reduce the risk of diabetes who become a danger to everyone.
